From the legendary Hal Roach Studios comes an early entry from one of their top silent comedy stars, Charley Chase, in Why Men Work. Chase had worked as a director for the studio since 1920, but moved in front of the camera for the first time in over a decade after Harold Lloyd departed and left an opening for a new funnyman at Roach Studios. He collaborated with director Leo McCarey, who would go on to helm some of the finest of 1930s screwball comedies, including Duck Soup and The Awful Truth.
