Continuing in the ancient tradition of Aztec carvings, the source of both his art and namesake, the present work of Miguel Cuauhtemoc is characteristic of his oeuvre - the encounter of the inevitable with the immovable, calling for the integration of the senses and invoking the myth of chaos and pleasure. His work lacks norms, he engraves disturbed beings and dreams on wood inspired by German Expressionism, influenced by great masters such as Otto Dix, Egon Schiele and Max Beckman. He completed his artistic studies at the School of Design of the National Institute of Fine Arts, the Academy of San Carlos and Casa del Lago UNAM. His works have been exhibited at Galeria Aura, Casa de Arte Malaga, Galeria CODICE, Centro Vlady, among others. And he has participated in group exhibitions at the University of Chicago, Espacio Cultural Excelsior, Centro Cultural del México Contemporaneo and in the Chamber of Deputies.
