CASABLANCA

BOGART & BERGMAN

GOLDEN AGE OF FILM NOIR, 1942

Original Re-Release Belgian Movie Window Card

Publisher: Warner Brothers

Stone Lithograph

With several writers working on the script at the same time, and a cast and crew who were not entirely sure in what direction the film was going, Casablanca could easily have been one of the many forgotten potboilers that came out of the Hollywood studio system of the 1940s. Somehow, though, magic struck and it turned into a flawless and gripping drama that went on to win three Oscars (including Best Picture) and became one of the best-loved films of all time.

Size: 11.3 x 17.0 in; 28.58 x 43.18 cm

Signed: unsigned

Next to the image of Clark Gable about to kiss Vivien Leigh from "Gone With the Wind," this image of Humphrey Bogart going cheek-to-cheek with Ingrid Bergman may be the most recognizable image in the history of the cinema. This original Belgian poster, from the post-World War II era, captures the romance that has made "Casablanca" the most romantic movie ever made.
