Selecting the historical site of one of Western civilizaton's earliest and most impressive technological triumphs, that being construction of the Egyptian Pyramids, the artist here presents several more recent inventions of mankind, including a symbolically-celebratory misplaced water-paddling propulsion device, romantically-airborne and soaring above the Pyramids, juxtaposed with rifles, an older and more threatening instrument of violence. Mankind's inventive nature is clearly capable of producing both the wonderful and the dangerous.
