Standard issue regulation Union army infantry drum. A classic example of a vintage Civil War Military drum for an unspecified regiment, as this was probably war surplus and was never commissioned for painting-in the division number identifier. Surviving post-Civil War drums were often cut down in height and often used in public school band music programs.
