A magnificent dreamlike scenario portrayed in marble. Relaxed and content celestial nymph maiden resting and dreaming within an enveloping crescent moon. Famed for his graceful and beautiful works of art, A. Batacchi worked in the later 1800's in Florence, Italy. His biography is little known, but his characteristic style is found in many antique statues that have been sold at auction around the world.
