Strongly influenced by Paul Cezanne’s transitional works, Emiel Hansen (1878 - 1952) was active/lived in Denmark, and is known for his modernist painting style, where one can see the beginnings of a nascent Cubism, the movement which would soon thereafter cause a seismic shift in Art, ushered in by the audacious works of Picasso who was also closely paying attention to the same mentor’s (Cezanne) distinctive brush strokes, and the way he distorted perspective and his subjects, whom Picassso dubbed "the father of us all."
